UK company MDC specialises in animal handling equipment. Their new dog holders come into the 'quick release - anti-strangle' category. The quick-release mechanism is very useful and is operated by a pull-ring on the holder shaft. The anti-strangle feature is a pull-out tube at the end of the handle. When pulled the cable is released to enlarge the loop. After the loop is placed over the dog's head the cable is pulled through to secure the dog. The cable will not release without pulling the release-tube out. The MDC dog holder is well made with a heavy-duty aluminium pole and good hand grips. The cable is 6mm stainless steel with heavy plastic coating, and features a secure metal end-stop.
