The Timms Kill Trap remains a household name for its simplicity, durability, and effectiveness in controlling possum populations and other pests.

Timms-style traps can be used for various pests, including possums, rats, feral cats, foxes, and rabbits. The quick and humane action ensures minimal suffering.

How It Works:  The possum is attracted to the bait inside the trap and puts its head into the hole at the front. A spring-loaded bar then strikes under the possum's chin, causing unconsciousness and death.

Instructions:

  1. Bait the internal trigger rod with a slice of apple, carrot, or other fruit bait.
  2. Pull the string at the back to set the trap, drawing the strangle-bar down over-centre.
  3. Secure the trap to the ground with the supplied loop-head pins or place it in a tree if required.
  4. To remove a dead animal, pull the nylon cord to release the animal, keeping fingers clear to avoid injury.

Safety Note: Exercise caution when placing the trap around domestic pets and children. It’s advisable to unset the trap during the day and reset it at night.

Dimensions: 26cm high x 20cm wide x 21cm deep

NOTE: In Australia, Possums are both protected under wildlife protection laws, and it is illegal to kill or harm them without a permit. These laws apply across the entire country, including all states and territories. Permits may be issued to control possum populations in specific areas where they are causing damage to property or posing a risk to human health. These permits are typically issued by state or territory wildlife agencies and may require that the control measures used are humane. We recommend that any possum control measures be carried out in accordance with local laws and regulations.
