The Blunt Eye Hook 8 cm is a calving aid used to assist with controlled traction during difficult deliveries when extra help is required. The blunt, rounded end is intended to support safer use by helping reduce the risk of tissue damage compared with sharp-ended tools when used correctly.
Used with a rope or chain through the eye, it allows more targeted placement and controlled pulling. The blunt end is designed for placement in the foetus’s orbital (eye) cavity to help correct head malposition into the birth canal and assist controlled traction when needed.
Always use adequate lubrication, appropriate restraint and good hygiene. Veterinary supervision is recommended, and veterinary advice should be sought if calving does not progress normally.
