The Red captive bolt activator is suitable for:
- Young bulls & Cattle 450 - 650 kg
- Large sows & Boars 150 kg +
Always use the correct sized cartridge, if unsure please consult your vet.
Effective stunning is not just about skull penetration. It requires disrupting the brainstem to cause instant unconsciousness. If the bolt fails to reach or impact enough of the brain mass, the animal may not be fully stunned, even if the skull is penetrated. If too powerful a cartridge is used the captive bolt can become damaged (and may void the warranty)
